The Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) in Poland has announced that its Chief Prosecutor has actioned an investigation into the 1943 death of Polish Prime Minister and General Władysław Sikorski, who died in the crash of Liberator AL523 in Adelaide, South Australia.
Author and researcher Peter Urbanski has been asked to provide information relevant to the inquiry. Paperwork has been lodged; a Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) process could have been raised between Poland and Australia is understood to be underway.
IPN Chief prosecutor Marcin Gołębiewicz of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), has issued a case number has been assigned to the author's submission officially - regarding the 1943 death of General Władysław Sikorski.
